Why You Should Consider the Dalapro Speed Max Roller
An alternative to the standard 9-inch roller, the Dalapro Speed Max Roller features a wider profile, making it suitable for applying Dalapro Roll Nova over larger wall areas. Its design supports consistent application and is well-suited to projects that require broader coverage.
What makes Dalapro Speed Max Roller different to traditional rollers?
The Dalapro Speed Max Roller is designed specifically for use with Dalapro Roll Nova, our ready-mixed wall covering. Its construction enables it to hold a greater volume of material compared with conventional roller sleeves, meaning fewer trips to the tub during application. This helps support a steady, even layer of Dalapro Roll Nova across the surface.
What are the benefits of using a Speed Max Roller?
A key feature of the Speed Max Roller is its nylon fibres, which create a 3D mesh structure. This enables the roller to take up and distribute Dalapro product effectively, helping achieve consistent coverage, even on surfaces with light texture.
The wider roller format also means more material can be loaded at once, supporting continuous application across larger areas without frequent reloading. The mesh design is intended to deliver a smooth, even spread of material using standard rolling technique.
How to use a Speed Max Roller for greater efficiency
Using the Dalapro Speed Max Roller follows a simple, straightforward process.
Start with preparation. Ensure walls are clean, dry and free from dust, loose material or flaking paint. Hairline cracks, nail pops, and other minor imperfections can be covered when using Dalapro Roll Nova during the application process.
Once prepared, load the Speed Max Roller with Dalapro Roll Nova and apply directly to the wall until the surface is evenly coated.
Follow with a skimming blade to smooth the coating. Once dry, if the surface needs a second application, then follow the previous step.
Once the surface is completely dry, lightly sand it; it will then be ready for painting or wallpaper.
Can the Speed Max Roller be used for larger cracks?
Yes. For larger gaps or cracks, scrim or joint tape can be used to reinforce the area before coating. After taping, the Speed Max Roller can be used with Dalapro Roll Nova to apply material over the repair. Ensure the Dalapro Roll Nova has fully saturated the tape. This provides good filling capacity and minimal sinking once dry, making it ready for sanding prior to decoration.
Alternatively, larger holes or deeper imperfections can be repaired first using our EasiFill products before applying Dalapro Roll Nova.
Can I roll directly from the Dalapro Roll Nova tub?
Yes. Dalapro Roll Nova is supplied in a 12-litre tub designed to cover approximately 12 square metres at 1mm thickness. The width of the tub allows room for the Speed Max Roller to be dipped into the product.
Although ready-mixed, it can be helpful to give the material a quick work-through with the roller before application to ensure consistency. Avoid overloading the roller, as the mesh structure is designed to distribute the material smoothly without needing excessive pressure.
How long does Dalapro Roll Nova take to dry?
Drying time will vary depending on temperature, humidity, ventilation and the thickness of the applied layer. Under typical conditions, Dalapro Roll Nova dries in approximately 8 hours.
How do I maintain the Dalapro Speed Max Roller?
Maintenance should begin as soon as the application is complete. As wall coverings can dry quickly, rinsing the roller promptly helps maintain its condition. Run it under warm water and gently work out any remaining product until the water runs clear.
Dispose of any wastewater in line with local or national regulations.
Avoid leaving the roller submerged in water for extended periods, as this may affect the core. Allow the roller to dry fully, then store upright or in its original packaging in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight. To help prolong the roller's life during breaks in work, the roller can be wrapped in cling film to prevent the material from drying on the fibres.
